Pitfalls of a Big City (Pathe Exchange Inc., 1923). Three Sheet (41" X 81"). Ben Turpin, the silent cinema's scrawny, cross-eyed comic, began his career at Essanay Studios in Chicago as part-time utility comedian and part-time studio janitor. He later graduated to playing opposite Essanay's newest comedian Charlie Chaplin. From the late teens up until his retirement in the late twenties, Turpin was always at the top of his game with his spectacular physical comedy. Offered here is a gorgeous stone lithograph three sheet to a comedy he did for the famous Mack Sennett Studios. This vintage poster has fold wear and some fold chipping. Beautifully restored on linen to give it an almost brand new appearance. Very Fine on Linen. Please see full-color, enlargeable images above for more details.
