    Description

James Montgomery Flagg's The Stenog (Perfection Pictures, 1918). One Sheet (28" X 41").
James Montgomery Flagg, at the height of his career, was reported to have been the highest paid magazine illustrator in America. What many do not know about the artist is that he also wrote, starred in, and/or directed more than a dozen short films between 1914 and 1920. Included in that canon is The Stenog with Camilla Carroll who can be seen drawn to perfection by Flagg himself on this extremely rare stone litho one sheet that is making its Heritage debut. Posters for Flagg's The Art Bug (1918), The Good Sport (1918) and The Artist's Model (1918) have also been seen at auction, but very rarely. Touchup to the folds, paper loss at the crossfolds and vertical fold (a small spot in the Carroll's cheek), and small tears in the right border. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
