    Description

Harold and Maude by Colin Higgins (Paramount, 1971). Very Fine-. Original Script (110 Pages, 8.5" X 11") & Shooting Schedule (37 Pages, 8.5" X 11").
A Heritage first time offer, a vintage original film script, with embossed die-cut Paramount studio wrappers, with a 37 page shooting schedule. A seminal film of the New American Cinema, a bizarre tale of a close relationship between Harold (Bud Cort), a depressive 20-year-old male and an irrepressible 80-year-old woman (Ruth Gordon) directed by Hal Ashby. Critically and commercially unsuccessful when originally released, the film developed a cult following and in 1983 began making a profit. It is ranked number 45 on the American Film Institute's list of 100 Funniest Movies of all Time and was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress in 1997. UCLA student Colin Higgins wrote the film as his master's thesis and while working as the pool boy for producer Edward Lewis, sold the project to Paramount. The script is intact with some soiling to the bound edge as well as minor pen writing inside. The cover remains in very nice condition. The shooting schedule has loose pages where stapled together.
