Description

A Night at the Opera (MGM, 1935). Title Lobby Card (11" X 14").
"And now, on with the opera. Let joy be unconfined. Let there be dancing in the streets, drinking in the saloons, and necking in the parlor." The Marx brothers release chaos into social institutions like no one else because, really, who wants to live in an institution? When a couple's love is endangered by the man's inability to make it as a tenor, the brothers bind together to pull stunts, ensuring that the young man will get his opportunity. On this title card, renowned caricaturist Al Hirschfeld drew the Marx Brothers for the first time. There has been touchup to pinholes in the borders, and light color enhancement to the background. Fine+.
