    Description

    A Chump at Oxford (United Artists, 1940). Fine/Very Fine on Paper. Silk-Screen Poster (30" X 40").
One of the final films from Hal Roach studios featuring Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy, A Chump at Oxford features the legendary comedy duo getting into their famously wacky hijinks after being enrolled in Oxford University. This beautiful silk-screen poster for the film, offered here for the first time at Heritage, shows the pair making their best attempt at appearing worthy of the prestigious university, a contrast to the comedy in store for viewers. Backed on heavy paper, restoration has replaced missing paper in the borders. The image area has some light scuffs and scratches, minute chips, smudges, and minor stains. Touchup has been applied to some of the wear in the image. There is also a bit of subtle rippling along with a few small tears in the area above Laurel and Hardy's credits, as well as a tear in the top of the "d" in Hardy's credit.
