Dynamite Brothers by Gray Morrow (Cinemation Industries, 1974). Signed Original Acrylic Poster Artwork on Illustration Board (22" X 30") & One Sheet (27" X 41").
One of the hardest working illustrators in comics, artist Gray Morrow was responsible for many comic book stories in the horror and science fiction genres at DC, Marvel and Warren Publishing. Eventually this led to many other jobs including working for TV and film studios, where he did a few one sheet designs. This incredible painting signed by Morrow is for one of the classic action pics of the mid 1970s, a blend of blaxploitation with the martial arts that was so popular at the time. The film was also known as Stud Brown and East Meets Watts, but was commonly distributed as Dynamite Brothers. Included in this lot is a one sheet for the film, and why Cinemation Industries printed the poster in black and white is a question, unless they were just cutting back on expenses. But without a doubt, this full color original painting by Morrow packs all the action the film delivered. This painting has some slight edge wear, some unobtrusive corner bumps, and a couple of soft surface scuffs. It also shows faint smudging and masking tape across the top from the artistic process. The one sheet shows practically no signs of wear. Very Fine- on Illustration Board.
