    Description

    Popeye (Paramount, 1950). Stock One Sheet (27.25" X 40.75").
Beloved by children and comic lovers for generations, Elzie Chrisler Segar's famous comic strip character, Popeye, first came to life on the big screen next to Betty Boop in a 1933 short, quickly rising to even greater popularity with a wider fanbase. Soon enough, everyone's favorite spinach-chugging sailor began starring in his own shorts, and has been charming audiences in theaters and on television screens ever since. Touchup has been applied to the folds, a small gouge in the upper left background, and a chip in the center crossfold. There has also been partial touchup to a few tears into the interior. Unaddressed wear includes pinholes, paper lifts, small tears, and minor bits of paper loss at the edges. There are a couple of horizontal tears in the right side of the title, and the piece displays some signs of color fading. The linen has been trimmed to the borders, and the poster may have a very slight trim at the left and right edges. Very Good on Linen.
