    Description

The Son of the Sheik (United Artists, 1926). Lobby Cards (2) (11" X 14").
Five years after the immensely successful film, The Sheik, silent heartthrob Rudolph Valentino returns in this sequel, playing both Sheik and his dashing son. When his son is captured and tortured by his brutal enemy, he believes he has been betrayed by the dancing girl Yasmin, played by Hungarian actress Vilma Banky. His revenge on the innocent girl is brutal, and when he realizes his mistake, there is no stopping his rage against the culprits. Directed by George Fitzmaurice, Valentino's final film was even more popular than its predecessor, and cemented his legend as the top screen idol of the era. Both of these exciting cards show some foxing, one has a small stain and tear in the upper right corner, and the other card has a chip in the lower left corner. Paper from this blockbuster is rare and highly sought, making these cards prize items for serious collectors. Fine.
