    Description

The African Queen (United Artists, 1952). One Sheet (27" X 41").
Humphrey Bogart may have risen to fame playing gangsters during the 1930s, but by 1952 his acting talents were so finely honed that he won an Oscar for portraying a drunken riverboat captain who embarks on a mission with a spinster (Katharine Hepburn) to sink a German battleship during WWI. This remains one of Bogart's and Hepburn's best films and this poster dazzles with all of the action that John Huston's film promised. There is a little bit of color touchup to the upper center point in the "R" of the title. There was a pinhole in each corner and the upper border has been airbrushed as well. Other than these very minor issues, this is one of the best and brightest copies of this classic one sheet we've seen. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
