    Description

Sunrise (Fox, 1927). Very Fine. Deluxe Lobby Card (11" X 14") Marion Jochimsen Artwork.
One of the most important directors in the history of German cinema, Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau is primarily remembered today for his landmark vampire film, Nosferatu (1922), an unauthorized adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula. Lured to Hollywood by Fox Studios, Murnau was given an unprecedented amount of creative and artistic control to make this film. Although it received lavish critical acclaim, winning three Academy Awards, it was a disappointment at the box office, causing Fox to take a firmer hand with Murnau in the future, leading the director to break his contract with the studio in frustration. Nevertheless, this picture stands as a true classic, one of the most beautiful and artistic films ever brought to the screen. Offered for only the second time at Heritage is a beautiful embossed deluxe Lobby Card with artwork by Jochimsen. A vibrant well-preserved piece, signs of use in this card include slight edge and corner wear, small creases, very minor stains, and a few minute paper lifts. These issues are found in the borders and the interior is in wonderful shape. Very Fine.
