    Sunrise (Fox, 1927). Fine/Very Fine on Linen. One Sheet (28" X 42.5").
Featuring a radiantly beautiful stone litho portrait of Janet Gaynor, this unique one sheet is a first time offer from Heritage. Under the superb direction of F.W. Murnau, Sunrise is considered one of the greatest silent films ever made. A magnificent morality tale of a man (George O'Brien) and wife (Gaynor) who live in a rural community. O'Brien is seduced away from his marriage by a city woman who ultimately suggests he murder his spouse and join her in the city. What seems to be a tragedy turns into a tale of love and redemption under the brilliant telling of Murnau. A winner of Oscars for Best Cinematography and Best Actress (Gaynor), it also won an award for Best Unique and Artistic Picture - the first and only time the award was ever presented. This is the only known copy of this visually stunning one sheet. Prior to the professional restoration, there was fold wear, creasing, pinholes, small border chips and tears. This stone litho has retained its magnificent color, and the poster displays radiantly.
