A Night at the Opera (MGM, 1935). Pre-War Belgian (24" X 30.5").
The first film the Marx Brothers made after having left Paramount for the greener pastures of MGM, which provided them with bigger budgets and higher production values, this comedy gem is one of their best. It features several big musical productions, such as the delightful "Cosi, Cosa" aboard the steam ship along with the infamous stateroom scene where a crowd continually packs into a tiny cabin. Groucho is outrageous as Otis B. Driftwood, companion to society matron Margaret Dumont. With the aid of brothers Chico, and Harpo, he helps smooth the path for young opera singers Kitty Carlisle and Allan Jones to find love. This fun poster has been mounted on linen, but has had no other restoration. It is in very clean condition, showing only pinholes in the corners and two at the top, two extra horizontal folds, and a small trim in the top imprint area. This is a must have for fans of the zany brothers. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
