Johnny Weissmuller, a twenty-eight year old Olympic gold medalist, made his debut as the Lord of the Jungle in this lavish MGM production, paired with the luminous Maureen O'Sullivan as Jane. This was the first, and best, in the popular series, based on Edgar Rice Burroughs' famed pulp adventures. This striking stone litho Australian daybill had small tears at the top right edge and tears in the horizontal folds, all of which has been smoothed over with professional restoration.
