MGM mounted a massive ad campaign to promote this, the very first sound film to star silent film siren Greta Garbo, with the legendary ad line, "Garbo talks!" Based on the play by Eugene O'Neill (and filmed once before in 1923), Anna Christie tells of a young woman trying to hide her past (prostitution) from her newly-found father (George F. Marion), as well as the charming Irish sailor (Charles Bickford) she has fallen for. This sublime title lobby card is exceedingly rare, and highly coveted by Garbo collectors and posters are rarely found. Corner pinholes and one in her hat have been corrected with professional restoration. This card is not paper backed and appears near mint! Fine/Very Fine.
