Description

The Grim Game (Paramount, 1919). Lobby Card (11" X 14").
This lobby card with the inimitable showman, Harry Houdini, hanging by just his chin wrapped around a pipe, atop a tall building, is one of the best in the set. It features Houdini in one of his most famous feats, that of escaping from an asylum straitjacket, while trussed with thick ropes around his feet. Everyone in the theatre knew he would "get out," but the fun was in watching! There are border pinholes and small tears along the borders with one into the tagline on the bottom, chips in the top and bottom right corners, and corner bends and creases in two corners and borders. A very rare card for one of America's best entertainers. Fine+.
