Description
Dracula (Universal, 1931). Lobby Card (11" X 14").Already a success on Broadway as the vampire Count Dracula, Bela Lugosi nevertheless was not the early choice to play Bram Stoker's legendary villain in Universal's film version, and the Hungarian actor had to lobby hard to win the role. Directed by Tod Browning, Bela Lugosi's performance is sensational, one all later actors aspire to, making this one of the finest horror films of all time. All material from this early masterpiece is highly prized and therefore scarce. Offered here is a scene card of rare beauty, featuring Dracula carrying an entranced Helen Chandler, with an inset of Lugosi and Edward Van Sloan as Van Helsing. The image area is in impeccable condition; there are pinholes in the corners and one in the top border, light smudges in the bottom border, and a minor tear at the right edge. This will be a dramatic highlight to any serious horror collection. Fine/Very Fine.
