Destry Rides Again (Universal, 1932). One Sheet (27" X 41").
Cowboy hero Tom Mix, as Tom Destry, is framed and thrown into jail. He lives to ride again and with help from Sally Dangerfield (Claudia Dell), goes after his partner Tom Brand (Earle Foxe) who was behind the murderous plot from the beginning. One of the most popular cowboy stars of the era, Mix had a brief retirement from films, but made his comeback in a big way with this picture, his first talkie, which makes this a very special item for Western collectors. This stunning poster has been professionally restored to address pinholes, a chip in the bottom border, and a nick in the left border. The top few inches of white border and just into the yellow field was trimmed, but after excellent conservation the poster appears mint. The posters from Mix's nine Westerns for Universal are some of the hardest from his career to find. In 2005 we sold a three sheet from this film for over $10,000! Very Good/Fine on Linen.
