The Canary Murder Case (Paramount, 1929). Title Lobby Card (11" X 14").
Louise Brooks makes a smashing appearance as nightclub singer "The Canary" on this beautiful title card. William Powell as famed detective Philo Vance is called in to investigate her murder in this early "part-talkie" mystery film. The film proved to be Brooks' Hollywood undoing as she refused to return to voice her lines for the sound version. The card has been restored to repair a 1/2 inch trim on the bottom border and a small chip in the left border. The work is superb and the card now looks as good as the day it was printed. An iconic image from the early days of sound films. Fine.
