Using his skills as a director of such atmospheric classics as Cat People (1942), I Walked with a Zombie (1943), and The Leopard Man (1943), Tourneur creates an apprehensive, fateful mood with this film noir masterpiece. Former private investigator Robert Mitchum cannot escape his past or his passion for Jane Greer when he is found by jealous gangster Kirk Douglas. The three are twisted together in a web of lies, blackmail, murder, and lust, leading irrevocably to tragedy. One of the finest noir posters available, this stunner is always a top prize for collectors, especially in this fine of condition, with only minor touch-up at the folds. Very Fine on Linen.
