Description

No Greater Sin (Alexander International Film, 1941). Three Sheet (41" X 81") Soldier Style. Exploitation.
This is one of the most fascinating and effective exploitation posters we've ever seen. It's the impossible to find alternate style three sheet, relying much heavier on the "sex" angle of the film that the bland three sheet used by most theatres. This style hints at "Fifth Column Women" (a WWII term meaning a small group secretly undermining a larger group, such as a nation from within.) In the case of the film, it means prostitutes giving American servicemen and factory workers syphilis, at the 'Owl's Nest Roadhouse." Hence the stern admonition, 'Check the Cabins!" It's a very scarce piece of pure Americana, and surely was used at only a limited number of theatres in larger cities. Starring Leon Ames, Luana Walters, Adele Pearce, George Cabaret, Guy Usher, Bodily Prosing, Tristram Coffin. Directed by William Nigh. An unrestored poster with good color and an overall very presentable appearance. It may have edge wear with small tears, cross fold separations with small paper loss, and small paper lift. Please see full-color, enlargeable image below for more details. Folded, Fine.
