Grand Hotel (MGM, 1932). Lobby Card (11" X 14"). This film won the Best Picture Oscar the year of its release, and was a tremendous money maker. There was initial skepticism that by putting all of their stars -- Greta Garbo, John and Lionel Barrymore, Joan Crawford and Wallace Beery -- in one picture, that they (the studio) might lose money, instead of spreading the stars out over 5 or 6 pictures. With its financial and critical success, the way was open to produce many similar films. This lobby card has pinholes in the borders, a few small edge tears, and a small edge chip. All of these flaws have been repaired. The card features a dramatic shot of Beery and Lionel Barrymore. Very Fine-.
