Werewolf of London (Universal, 1935). One Sheet (27" X 41") Style C. When Universal decided to make the first film to deal with lycanthropy, they brought in master makeup artist Jack Pierce to create the perfect Werewolf. What he created was considered so horrific that the makeup was shelved until 1941 when Universal would cast Lon Chaney in "The Wolf Man". The makeup used in this film was 'abbreviated', yet many consider it to be superior. There are only two copies of this one sheet known to exist so if you're a Universal horror collector, this may be your only opportunity to score this monster. The poster has had minor color touch to the fold lines, in particular the black areas where there were a few cross tears. There has also been some slight repair to the "He" in "Henry" where there was a small hole. There was a chip off of the lower right corner, another out of the upper left corner and one more in the upper center border that just touched the black background. Overall, this poster was quite nice, and after restoration, it now appears very clean. Fine + on Linen.
