Description

The Spirit of Notre Dame (Universal, 1931). Pressbook (Multiple Pages). This gridiron drama is set at Notre Dame and centers around their legendary football coach who was patterned after Knute Rockne. Actually, the film was dedicated to Rockne, who had died a few months before the film was released, and features several real players from the Notre Dame squad including the Four Horsemen: Don Miller, Elmer Layden, Jim Crowley, and Harry Stuhldreher. There is a center fold line, small tears, and some soiling to the cover. As a bonus, there's a great advertisement for Frankenstein, uniquely illustrated on the inside. Fine+.
