The Bride of Frankenstein (Universal, 1935). Insert (14" X 36").
One cannot overstate the rarity and desirability of original release poster material for this, one of the greatest classic horror films of all time. Only a handful of these insert posters have ever surfaced, and this poster features some of the best art designed for this release. Boris Karloff as the Frankenstein Monster has never looked more menacing, and all the other main characters, from Elsa Lanchester as "the Bride", to Colin Clive, Valerie Hobson, Ernest Thesiger and Dwight Frye, are all well represented on this strikingly eerie poster. There was expert touchup work on the folds. There was very thin masa paper applied on the reverse of the entire poster. There were small chips in three of the borders, with some small tears, a top right corner chip, and a one small tack hole each in the left and the right border, all of which have been expertly restored. One of the most iconic items in all of movie poster collecting, one rarely gets a chance to bid on this outstanding rarity. Fine+.
