The Wagon Show (First National, 1928).
One Sheet (27" X 41"). Former rodeo champion Ken Maynard performed as a trick rider with the Buffalo Bill and the Ringling Brothers Wild West shows. He entered films in 1923, and soon rose to be a western superstar and was famous for the stunts he could perform on his famous horse "Tarzan." Maynard even taught a young John Wayne how to do stunts. Great stone litho gives a wonderful illustration of Maynard astride his horse. Very Fine.

One Sheet (27" X 41"). This early Ken Maynard silent western was one of a series he did for First National. Warner Brothers/ First National would adapt this Will Comfort novel six years later and give the lead to a then unknown John Wayne. This poster has fold line wear with several small areas of paper loss, surface wrinkles and border tears with some paper loss and small tears. The poster has been professionally restored, rendering these defects hard to detect. The gorgeous stone litho graphics are what make some of these early western posters so striking and collectible. Fine+ on Linen.

Phantom Thunderbolt (Worldwide Pictures, 1933)
One Sheet (27" X 41"). In this horse opera, Ken Maynard stars as the Thunderbolt Kid and is trying to capture a gang of outlaws trying to stop the railroad from coming through a small western town. The posters for Maynard's pictures were usually quite colorful and this one is no exception. In this scene, his very well trained horse, Tarzan, is rescuing Maynard! The one sheet has a few very minor chips out of the border and minor color touch to the fold lines. Very Fine+ on Linen.

Though there are some splendid posters from Maynard's films such as "Boots of Destiny" and "Fighting Legion," this poster is the ultimate Maynard. Pinholes in border. Very Fine/Near Mint.

One Sheet (27" X 41"). This great looking offset one sheet is from an early Ken Maynard talkie about two miners who strike it big. The two miners are robbed, Ken's partner is killed and he is framed for the murder. Maynard was a trick rider who came to Hollywood via the old Wild West live shows that toured throughout the country up to the 20's. Very Fine- on Linen.

The Red Raiders (First National, 1927).
One Sheet (27" X 41"). Ken Maynard was a rodeo star, later movie star and a western singing star, to boot. He made some 300 feature films, and during this period some of the prettiest posters were produced. This is a very rare Ken Maynard poster, of which no other copy is known. It has been linen backed and has had paper replaced in bits of the upper title area, small chips in the folds, and several chips in the lower border and studio name. The poster appears to be in very nice shape. Good/Very Good on Linen.
