Dinky Doodle in Egypt (Standard Cinema Corporation, 1926).
One Sheet (27" X 41"). Animator Walter Lantz created some of the most beloved animation characters in history including Andy Panda, Chilly Willy, and his most famous creation, the mischievous red-headed Woody Woodpecker. Early in his career, Lantz worked as a producer at the John Randolph Bray studio where he created a new animation series, Dinky Doodle, a little boy character with a canine pal named Weakheart. These cartoon shorts occasionally blended animation with live actors, including Lantz. In 1930, he made animation history by producing the first Technicolor cartoon: the five-minute opening sequence of "The King of Jazz." In 1935, he founded his own production company where most of his characters were created. There has been trivial touch-up to small border nicks and chips and minor creases and scratches, otherwise this poster is in excellent condition. Here's a rare opportunity to acquire a poster from the early work of this animation pioneer. Very Fine+ on Linen.

Flip the Frog (MGM, 1930).
One Sheet (27" X 41"). Created and illustrated by the legendary Ub Iwerks, Flip the Frog was MGM's first sound cartoon character. The series premiered on August 16, 1930 with a film entitled "Fiddlesticks" and continued for 38 episodes, ending in 1933. "Fiddlesticks," utilized the Two-Color Technicolor process, becoming the first color sound cartoon ever made. The rest of the Flip series, except for "Techno-Cracked" (1933), were made in black and white. Flip went through a metamorphosis as the series progressed; he became less frog-like and took on more human characteristics. Offered here is an extremely scarce and coveted stock poster that features Flip the Frog as he originally appeared at the beginning of the series. There is light fold line wear with separations at the crossfolds, border nicks and tears, pinholes, and one 5-inch tear at the bottom. The poster has been professionally restored, rendering these defects hard to detect. Very Fine+ on Linen.
