This Island Earth (Universal, 1955).
One Sheet (27" X 41"). "This Island Earth" is one of the most intelligent and elaborate sci-fi films of the 1950s. Scientists on Earth are enlisted by aliens to help them save their dying planet. When the scientists learn that the Metalunans are actually planning on taking over the Earth, they sabotage their experiments and are taken by flying saucer to Metaluna to be held accountable. The climactic Metalunan scenes were directed by Universal's resident sci-fi specialist, Jack Arnold. Reynold Brown's amazing artistic talents make this one of the most stunning posters of the genre. There is separation at the crossfolds, corner pinholes, a hole in the upper right corner, small tears around the borders, and a few creases. Fine+.

Lobby Card Set of 8 (11" X 14"). A little girl sits in shock, staring into oblivion until she suddenly shouts, "Them, Them! THEM!" In the first of the "giant bug" movies of the 1950's, James Whitmore leads a group of scientists and the U.S. army into the tunnels of the Los Angeles river to root out a nest of gigantic, radiation mutated ants! Four of these cards are in true Near Mint/Mint condition and the other four have a few pinholes in each corner. Card #1 also has a light stain in the side of the image and a 1 inch tear in the top center border that extends into the caption. This lot includes the original sleeve to the set. Very Fine/Near Mint. (Total: 9 items)

Half Sheet (22" X 28") Style A. Dr. John Bentley leads a Middle East expedition in search of a lost tribe. Bentley, along with his compatriots, follow a tunnel deep, deep, beneath the bowls of the earth. They discover a tyrannical tribe of albino Sumerians, who use the unfortunate Mole People as slaves. There are minor bumps and small tears on the borders, and a few light surface wrinkles scattered throughout. This poster is one of the better from the fifties sci-fi era, and features the wonderful poster art of the great Reynold Brown. Rolled,Very Fine+

Forbidden Planet (Loews - MGM, 1956).
Two Lobby Cards (2) (11" X 14"). Based on Shakespeare's play "The Tempest," this film was MGM's first big-budget science fiction production. The huge success of the film was mostly due to its mechanized performer, Robby the Robot, who became so popular with audiences that he went on to star in two more feature films. Many consider this to be one of the finest -- if not the finest -- science fiction films of the 1950s. Offered here are two lobby cards that are in pristine condition. Card number 4 features Robby seated at the console of the spacecraft. Near Mint. (Total: 2 pieces)
