Latest Heritage Internet Movie Poster Auction 55031

Dallas, Texas: Heritage's latest Internet Movie Poster Auction (IMPA) sale #55031 ended Sunday, March 20, with 214 lots offered. 162 bidders placed bids, and 86 of them were successful, for a total sell-through of $14,169.20 for 199 lots (92.99% of lots offered).

A few highlights from the March 20 IMPA sale are:

The Birds (Universal, 1963) Australian Daybill (13" X 30"). Hitchcock's classic horror of an isolated community attacked by an evil swarm of birds. This film introduced Tippi Hedren and co-starred Rod Taylor, and was based on the novel by Daphne DuMaurier. There is a few light border stains and the typical fold lines, otherwise this poster is in excellent condition. Very Fine+. REALIZED: $632.50.

The King and the Chorus Girl (Warner Brothers, 1937) One Sheet (27" X 41"). This is a vintage, theater-used poster for this adventure serial that was directed by Norman Krasna and Groucho Marx and stars Fernand Gravey, Joan Blondell and Edward Everett Horton. There is wear at the crossfolds, edge wear, tears and corner pinholes. Fine. REALIZED: $632.50.

Star Wars (20th Century Fox, 1976) One Sheet (27" X 41"). Style A. This is a vintage, theater-used poster for this sci-fi classic that was directed by George Lucas and stars Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher. There is minor fold line wear, some edge wear, corner pinholes and light surface wrinkles. Very Fine. REALIZED: $431.25.

Jungle Mystery (Universal, 1932) One Sheet (27" X 41"). Tom Tyler rose to stardom as a cowboy hero although he openly despised Westerns and was terrified of horses! In this 12-chapter Universal serial, Tyler had the opportunity to trade in his Stetson for a pith helmet, playing a big-game hunter in search of a buried treasure of ivory tusks. This poster is from Chapter 6 of the series entitled "Daylight Doom." There is fold line wear with a touch of paper loss at the lower crossfold, paper loss on the upper right corner and corner pinholes. Fine. REALIZED: $431.25.

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn (20th Century Fox, 1945) Lobby Card Set of 8 (11" X 14"). This is an original vintage theater-used lobby card set for the film starring Dorothy McGuire and Joan Blondell. Directed by Elia Kazan. This set has pinholes in the corners of all cards and some general wear. There is light foxing on borders of title card and several scene cards. There is a "General Exhibition" rubber stamp on the top border of all cards. The colors on these cards are strong and in general the cards are in very nice shape. Very Fine-. REALIZED: $373.75.

Bidding closed March 20, at 10pm CT. To bid in future auctions, simply go to Heritage's web site, and join their free web community. Or write or e-mail Heritage for a printed or fax listing.
