Description

Breakfast at Tiffany's (Paramount, 1961). Poster (40" X 60") Style Z. From the collection of Wade Williams.
A very rare 40" X 60" Style Z poster for the cinematic classic Breakfast at Tiffany's is offered here, a first for Heritage. For his inaugural film poster commission, artist Robert McGinnis (Thunderball, Barbarella, etc., and a veteran of over 1200 paperback covers), delivered this splendid and now indelible image of Audrey Hepburn as "Holly Golightly" coyly posing in her iconic Givenchy gown. Hepburn shines as the emotionally fragile Golightly, who doesn't know what she wants from life. Hepburn's rendition of Johnny Mercer and Henry Mancini's Oscar-winning song Moon River is one of many poignant moments in the film, which is filled with flawed characters played by George Peppard, Patricia Neal, and Buddy Ebsen, all struggling to find a bit of happiness. Color touch-up has been applied, with beautiful results. There has been light restoration of a top left corner tear and bend. A tear is still visible in the upper left corner, as is light edge wear and a tear in Hepburn's shoe. Hepburn enthusiasts won't want to miss this rarely seen large format piece! From the collection of Wade Williams. Rolled, Fine+.
