World War I Propaganda (U.S. Department of the Treasury, 1918). Fine/Very Fine on Illustration Board. Full Bleed Third Liberty Loan Poster (20" X 30") J.C. Leyendecker Artwork.
A typically spectacular illustration from Leyendecker has made this patriotic propaganda for the Third Liberty Loan (for war armaments) a perpetually sought-after poster. Bringing together two national icons, Lady Liberty and a Boy Scout of America, the scout hands the warrior woman a sword emblazoned with the BSA motto, "Be Prepared." A restored poster that displays signs of use. May include edge wear, creases and handling wear, tears, a few chips including a moderate one at the upper right corner, and a couple of minute stains. There are a few faint stains along the borders of the illustration board. Although backed on illustration board, no further restoration has been applied. The poster measures 20" X 30" while the illustration board measures 23" X 33". Please note that the borders in the image are the borders of the illustration board. Grades on all restored items are pre-restoration grades.
