A science-fiction drama starring David Bowie in his feature film debut, Bowie plays Thomas Jerome Newton, an alien who arrives on Earth seeking water for his drought-stricken planet and becomes entangled in human greed, and personal isolation. The film explores themes of alienation and the corrupting influence of wealth, and the human tendency toward self-destruction, blending surreal imagery with stark social commentary. Roeg's fragmented, dreamlike editing and Bowie's haunting performance make it a landmark in 1970s avant-garde science fiction cinema. Backed to linen, touch-up has addressed a few creases, wear along the folds, and a couple small chips to the edges. The poster now presents very nicely.
