It Came from Beneath the Sea (Columbia, 1955). Fine/Very Fine on Linen. Ray Harryhausen Signed Three Sheet (41.5" X 78.5").
Notable for its special effects by Ray Harryhausen, including the stop-motion animation sequences that bring the massive sea creature to life, the film's themes of nuclear anxiety and humanity confronting the unknown are central to the film. It became a popular entry in the era's wave of monster films and helped cement Harryhausen's reputation as a pioneering visual effects artist. Backed to linen, restoration has addressed wear, splits and chips to some fold lines. There has been touch-up to some of the letters of the tag line at upper right and an E in the word beneath of the title treatment. Additionally the borders have been airbrushed. Note that there are a number of staple holes to the selvage of the linen, particularly at the corners, and a single staple pair within the background at upper left below the tagline. This fantastic poster has been signed by animation impresario Ray Harryhausen at lower right and there is a PSA authentication sticker on the verso.
