High Button Shoes (1949). Touring Company Three Sheet (41" X 84").
Artist Don Freeman brilliantly portrays the playful nature of this uproarious musical comedy on this large format touring poster. With music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Sammy Cahn, and story by George Abbott and Stephen Longstreet, High Button Shoes proved to be a hit with audiences. The musical opened on Broadway in 1947, and closed in July of 1949 after 727 performances. Shortly after, a U.S. national tour opened with Joey Faye as the lead. This three sheet is from that tour, and shows only minor signs of use. Printed in three sections, the touring company poster has very light edge wear, pinpoint crossfold separations, and some offset.
