Linen Finish Title Lobby Card (11" X 14").Anatole Litvak's City for Conquest showcases James Cagney at his most compelling, playing a content truck driver with a heart of gold who uses his natural boxing talent to support his younger brother's musical aspirations. Cagney brings raw intensity and emotional depth to the role, charting a tragic arc from rising prizefighter to blinded ex-champion brought low by betrayal and corruption. Yet even in defeat, his performance radiates quiet dignity, culminating in a poignant final scene that affirms the power of sacrifice, love, and lost dreams. Prior to restoration, this linen finish title card showed several pinholes with tears primarily along the borders, light creases, a few miniscule chips, and a couple of stains which have been corrected via airbrushing, touchup, and replacement. Toning remains visible.
