Prodigal Daughters (Paramount, 1923). Rolled, Very Fine. Insert (14" X 36").
This lovely insert for the silent societal drama Prodigal Daughters, offered rarely at Heritage, features the prolific Gloria Swanson in one of her many starring roles. After prominently appearing in comedy shorts for Mack Sennett's Keystone Studios, Swanson was approached by Cecil B. DeMille and signed a contract with Paramount, and both the star and the studio had their greatest success. In Prodigal Daughters, Swanson plays one of a pair of sisters who live the high life as flappers in Greenwich Village in New York City, but return home after having misadventures that almost have tragic consequences. The poster has been cleaned, three corners have been braced on the verso, there are a few minute or tiny touch-ups within the background or image area. There was a small circular tear at lower right within the black fur that has light touch-up and is also braced on the verso. Additionally some portions of the borders have been airbrushed.
