Bluebeard's Eighth Wife, a presumed-to-be-lost silent film, highlights the great Gloria Swanson's star power and the early collaboration between her and director Sam Wood, one of the ten pictures the duo made together. The plot revolves around Mona de Briac (Swanson), a French nobleman's daughter, who marries a wealthy American, John Brandon (Huntley Gordon), only to discover he has divorced seven previous wives, leading to a humorous and romantic journey as they ultimately realize they are perfectly matched. The ungraded lobby cards show minor wear including soft creases, pinholes, corner bends, mostly unobtrusive smudges and scuffs, minute stains and chips, and subtle dust shadow. One lobby card in this lot is CGC Graded 9.4.
