A stunning piece to be sure, this large-format Italian poster is one of the earliest illustrations the great Anselmo Ballester ever made for a Hollywood film. Carole Lombard and Preston Foster have the greatest air of dignity in this dramatic Ballester image, a far different portrayal of their petty prankster characters than what is on the screen in this screwball comedy. Cesar Romero joins the two as Lombard's put-upon fiancée, and Janet Colby appears as Lombard's scheming mother. Beautifully illustrated, this stone litho poster has had professional corrections applied to the folds, pinholes, chips, and tears into the interior, one of which extends into Lombard's image. There is some tape stain bleedthrough from the verso that is still somewhat visible. The linen has a mild ripple, but the main image of the poster certainly makes for a wonderful display.
