Description

In Old Chicago (20th Century Fox, 1937). Very Good+ on Linen. One Sheet (27.25" X 41") Style A, Frederic C. Madan Artwork.
Responding to the success of MGM's San Francisco, Darryl F. Zanuck crafted this lavish tale centered around the Great Chicago Fire, resulting in one of Fox's most dazzling productions. Directed by Henry King, In Old Chicago stars Tyrone Power, Don Ameche, and Alice Faye in a gripping story about the O'Leary family rising to prominence amidst political ambition, romance, and social turmoil in late 19th-century Chicago. Power charms as a roguish figure, while Ameche's principled politician and Faye's heartfelt performance add depth to the drama. 20th Century Fox produced some of the era's most stunning posters, including this original release one sheet, featuring exquisite stone litho artwork by Frederic C. Madan. A blend of historical spectacle, family conflict, and standout performances earned the film two Academy Awards and cemented its place as a Golden Age classic. Rarely offered by Heritage, this Style A poster is a standout. The borders have been airbrushed to correct edge and fold wear, pinholes, some tears, a few chips, and slight trimming, which has been further addressed by replacement. Additionally, touchup and replacement throughout the interior has addressed fold wear, fold and crossfold separation, creases, tears, significant chipping, and slight paper loss within the faces of Power, Ameche, and Faye. It now presents well.
