Pinocchio (RKO, 1940). Very Fine+. Lobby Card Set of 8 (11" X 14") with Original Envelope Cover (10.25" X 12.5").
After the immense success of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Walt Disney and RKO quickly followed with Pinocchio, a richly imagined adaptation of Carlo Collodi's Pinocchio: Tale of a Puppet that further proved the viability of feature-length animated films. Critics praised nearly every aspect of the Academy Award-winning picture, from its groundbreaking animation and unforgettable characters to its Oscar-winning musical score and superb voice performances by Dick Jones, Cliff Edwards, Christian Rub, and Evelyn Venable. Offered here is a remarkable lot of rare lobby cards, featuring all eight from the original set (which Heritage has presented only once previously) along with the original envelope cover. The cards are nearly unmarred, displaying only minimal edge/corner wear, soft creases, and light smudges, with the envelope cover showing creases, staining/rippling, minute chips, writing, and tears with a couple of small strips of archival tape on its verso. A true treasure for collectors of this beloved classic.
