Set in the glamorous Cristiana Haute Couture fashion house, the film unravels a dark web of jealousy, blackmail, and murder. A masked killer stalks the models, laying the groundwork for the modern slasher with its graphic kills, sexual tension, and rising body count. What sets Blood and Black Lace apart is Bava's lush, dreamlike visual style-vivid colors, moody lighting, and fluid camerawork-which would go on to influence filmmakers like Dario Argento and Brian De Palma.
