Description

Legionaires in Paris (FBO, 1927). Very Good on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 40.75").
With delightful artwork that features a benevolent Uncle Sam, a grinning Kit Guard, and an engaged Al Cooke against the Parisian background, Heritage is ecstatic to offer for the very first time this one sheet for the FBO War-Comedy, Legionaires in Paris. The film follows two American soldiers, Guard and Cooke, on leave in Paris during Armistice Day 1918. Due to a misunderstanding, they believe they've accidentally killed a man and subsequently flee from the police, leading to a series of comedic escapades. Notably, this film was presented by Joseph P. Kennedy, father of future U.S. President John F. Kennedy, during his tenure with Film Booking Offices of America. Despite its initial release, Legionnaires in Paris is now considered a lost film, as no known copies exist in any film archives. Somewhat noticeable restoration throughout has addressed edge and fold wear, creases, pinholes, fold and crossfold separation, significant chips and tears, as well as a few areas of paper loss. Furthermore, the linen has been trimmed to the borders.
