Description

The Wolf Man (Universal, 1941). Very Fine-. Original Lobby Card Envelope (11" X 14").
Universal's The Wolf Man introduced Larry Talbot, a tragic figure cursed to become a werewolf, played by Lon Chaney Jr. Unlike other monsters, Talbot is tormented by guilt and fear, making him a sympathetic figure. With Jack Pierce's iconic makeup and a foggy, gothic atmosphere, the film became a cornerstone of Universal's monster legacy. Its success led to sequels and crossovers, solidifying the Wolf Man as one of the studio's most enduring and beloved horror icons. This lot is among the most interesting items we have had on this title, the envelope that contained a lobby card set at time of issue. A first time offering at Heritage, we can find no other sale of this item, highlighting the rarity of this unique piece. There are small splits to the edges and along a small portion of the bottom fold, grease pencil writing at bottom left and a vertical crease at center. You may already have a set of cards for this title, but do you have the envelope? Don't let this rare piece pass you by.
