The Wolf Man (Universal, 1941). Fine. Lobby Card (11" X 14").
Maria Ouspenskaya and Lon Chaney Jr. share a memorable scene in which Ouspenskaya portrays Maleva, the mother of the werewolf who originally bites Larry Talbot, played by Chaney. As one of the few characters who offers Talbot compassion and understanding, Maleva becomes a poignant presence in his tragic story. Her somber warnings and poetic dialogue add a haunting layer to the film, most notably through the now-iconic verse: "Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night, may become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms, and the autumn moon is bright." There is light edge wear, corner bumps and slight wear. The bottom right corner has a chip, there is a small split to the left border, a small split & crease to the bottom border and a 1-inch split in the right border that goes slightly into the background. The card has a center crease and light, scuffs in the lower area, as well as slight toning.
