Maurin Quina (1906). Very Fine on Linen. French Advertising Grande (46" X 63") Leonetto Cappiello Artwork.
Leonetto Capiello's green devil, created for this 1906 advertisement for Maurin Quina, became one of the artist's most famous and enduring creations. The product advertised on the poster, a cherry-flavored apéritif, was discontinued the same year this advertisement was created, but has since been reintroduced with Capiello's artwork adorning its label. This intriguing stone litho poster is backed on linen, but no further restoration or touchup was needed. The poster displays minor creases, subtle scuffs, a pinhole in the top border, and just a few very faint and unobtrusive smudges and stains. The linen has been trimmed close to the edges of the poster.
