Description
Un Chien Andalou (Les Grands Films Classiques, R-1979). Rolled, Fine/Very Fine. German A0 (33" X 47").The most iconic scene from Luis Buñuel's famous experimental film, the slitting of an eyeball, is colorfully depicted (with multi-layered diecut paper) on this striking German poster from the 1970s. Un Chien Andalou had a profound impact on cinema by challenging narrative conventions and embracing surrealist imagery. Its shocking and dreamlike sequences redefined artistic expression in film and influenced avant-garde and experimental cinema for decades. The film's rejection of traditional storytelling inspired future filmmakers, from Alfred Hitchcock to David Lynch, cementing its status as a groundbreaking work in surrealist and arthouse film history. This poster has wrinkles and slight wear to the eyeball. From the Wolfgang Jahn Collection.
