This star-studded adaptation of Shakespeare's fantasy features James Cagney as Bottom, Mickey Rooney as Puck, Olivia de Havilland as Hermia, Joe E. Brown as Francis Flute, and Dick Powell as Lysander. The film earned Academy Awards for both Cinematography and Film Editing, with a mesmerizing score by Felix Mendelssohn, adapted by Erich Wolfgang Korngold. This stunning title card has had some professional restoration to address minor border losses, some airbrushing to border staining (majority of which is to verso), an edge tear, and minor touchups to corner pinholes and now displays beautifully.
