The Mummy (Realart, R-1951). Fine/Very Fine on Linen. Half Sheet (22" X 28.25").
This wonderfully eerie half sheet for Realart's 1951 re-release of The Mummy captures the menace of Imhotep (Boris Karloff) in one of Universal's most enduring horror classics. Karloff's recently resurrected mummy looms at left, while his reincarnated love, played by Zita Johann, lies in unwilling preparation for mummification, evoking both terror and tragic romance. With its dramatic tagline, lurid colors, and imagery of ritual danger, the poster highlights themes of doomed love, ancient curses, and timeless obsession, while underscoring Karloff's mesmerizing performance that secured the Mummy's place in cinematic mythology. The borders have been airbrushed and touchup has been applied carefully and sparingly to the interior to correct edge wear, significant creases, tears, and a couple of slight chips further addressed by replacement.
