Blue Hawaii by Enzo Nistri (Paramount, 1961). Very Fine. Preliminary Mixed Media Concept on Sketch Paper (10" X 14") for Italian 4 Fogli.
Heritage is proud to present this one-of-a-kind preliminary sketch by renowned Italian poster artist Enzo Nistri, featuring the "King of Rock and Roll" himself, Elvis Presley. Made from a mix of gouache, watercolor, and pencil, this lovely rendering served as a rough draft for the illustration found on the Italian 4 - fogli, one of the film's best poster images in the entire ad campaign. Enzo worked in Italy's movie poster industry for thirty years as a designer and illustrator, creating dozens of beautiful paintings from the 1950s into the 1980s. Other titles that bear Enzo's masterful artwork include the likes of Hitchcock's Notorious, Planet of the Apes, and Godzilla, to name a few. The artist signs the rendering in the lower margin. It displays pinholes in the corners but is otherwise in very nice condition.
