Pinocchio (Walt Disney, 1939). Very Fine on Linen. Children's Book Week Library Poster (12" X 18.5").
Offered here is a poster released by Walt Disney Productions to advertise the book for the then-upcoming animated spectacular Pinocchio. Also featured on the poster are two other literary adaptations released in 1940, Abe Lincoln in Illinois and Little Orvie. Featuring wonderful artwork of Pinocchio, Geppetto, and Figaro unseen on any other poster, the poster is derived from a larger advertisement for Children's Book Week 1939, which pictured photographic imagery of additional novels that were part of the promotion. Given the fact that majority of the few extant examples we've encountered were trimmed in exactly the same fashion, it seems likely that they may have been subsequently issued or used in this state. Backed to linen, the piece had only light edge wear and an upper right corner tip crease.
