Artist Albert Kallis delivers a fabulous bombshell-meets-monster motif on this popular insert for The Astounding She-Monster, a low-budget sci-fi film directed by Ronald V. Ashcroft that has arguably less verve. Shirley Kilpatrick stars as the mute yet forceful blonde alien, an extraterrestrial being clad in a shimmering bodysuit, who crash-lands on Earth and proves highly radioactive and lethal to the touch. She traps a gang of wise-cracking kidnappers - Kenne Duncan, Ewing Miles Brown, and Jeanne Tatum - along with their victims, Marilyn Harvey and Robert Clarke, in a secluded cabin in the woods. As the criminals and their hostage struggle to survive, they begin to suspect the alien's true intentions may not be as malevolent as they first assumed. Filled with campy effects, exaggerated performances, and a classic B-movie atmosphere, the film has become a cult favorite among fans of 1950s sci-fi cinema. The insert shows minor fold wear.
